Talking Raptors is a podcast hosted by comedian’s Nick Reynoldson and Barry Taylor.
Having worked with Comedy Records in the past and spending time discussing the Toronto Raptors on a regular basis, two Toronto comedians decided they could bring a new flavour to the team’s following. Bringing a comedic tone weekly, Nick and Barry discuss all sorts of topics related to the Raptors franchise with their distinct comedic tone.
As a team we took to Toronto’s Maple Leaf Square located outside of the Air Canada Centre (also known to Raptor fans as Jurrasic Park). Playoff games were played for fans to enjoy outside the arena. Talking Raptors documented the festivies at all playoff games through interviews with all sorts of characters cheering on the team. I would film each video and have the edit ready for next day to be posted online. This helped Talking Raptors become a familar face outside the arena amongst hardcore fans.
The podcast averages approxiametly 3,000 weekly listens. Episodes range from the two comedians discussing topics on their own to special-guest episodes. Guests have included voices such as Jack Armstrong, Dan Gladman, Aliya Jasmine and many others.
One year into Talking Raptors, the podcast was approached by the team’s number one fan site and ESPN affiliate Raptors Republic. The website looked to give the podcast weekly platform to it's audience while giving us free reign to continue our way. Connecting with Raptors Republic has allowed Talking Raptors to become a staple podcast for hardcore Toronto Raptors fans looking to laugh.
